Pedales

You may be wondering:  "Who needs another pedal builder?  A logical question, considering the vast array of effects pedals available.

In the case of Six String Effects, the answer is: Any guitar player that is searching for new inspiration to drive his creativity and skill.

The effects appearing on this website represent the result of several years searching for the tones that inspire.  All the designs start off with an idea and a goal, and several different circuit ideas are tested to determine if the goal is achievable.

The seed for a design  may start off with a question such as: how can maximum distortion, sustain, and crunch be obtained while the signal stays articulate for rhythm work so that players can emulate a cranked tube amp at lower volume when performing in venues that set limits for loudness?  Another question might be: what new effects can be offered to players who strive to explore new styles of expression?

There is a risk involved with starting off using an idea instead of a popular circuit and modifying it.  The risk is a high rejection rate: out of 147 experiments over the last 8 years, only 8 circuits evolved into a final product.  All the rest served as experience to understand what works and what doesn't.

If you share the same quest as Six String Effects by striving to be creative and different, then the pedals on this site should interest you.
